I sent some money to Robert Anton Wilson a couple of days ago, and again this morning, because I was horrified to hear that he is pretty much destitute and was about to be kicked out of his apartment because he couldn’t pay the rent – all of this, of course, as he’s in the final stages of Post-Polio Syndrome and is dying.
Thanks to the excellence of the Interwebnets, his friends were able to get the word of this situation out on the kind of blogs and sites that R.A.W fans may just be reading, and it looks like the response has been enough to keep his rent paid for long enough that he’ll be able to stay in his home without worry during his final days.
It’s the least we could do for the man who showed us the fnords.

Showed us the what? I think the last word is missing from your sentence. And I feel strangely nervous about something.
(Yes, it’s a slow day at work today)

Yeah, I found it quite distressing to read about this earlier this week. I’ll be sending the little I can along next week.
